Tight Turns & Steep Bursts

The cycling scene in Melbourne is huge, it’s in plain sight and has a strong international presence.
In fact Sport in general in Melbourne is something that goes hand in hand with the city.
On a classic hot summer night a crowd of cyclists and runners gathered at the bottom of a central city carpark building ready to race to the top for this years infamous Car Park Climb.
The race sees participants take on a 1km sprint to the top of the cark park (It’s as tough as you can imagine). Especially knowing how tricky these car parks can be to even drive up.
Putting all your energy into tight turns and steep bursts is no easy feat, luckily the vibe was high, the tunes were good and there was even two bars, one at the bottom and one at the top of the carpark.
Good Sport was there to enjoy the night and document the happenings.
Heat by heat – times got beaten, fatigue grew and the competitive edge shone through. James Brown (pictured) taking out the top spot in the run.
Over hearing some of the cyclist crew chat to the runners, “You’re all working damn hard, we (cyclists) are coasting a bunch of the time, where as you all have to constantly run the whole way up, we couldn’t do that” they say.
